Design Studio Home Page Installation/Upgrade Guide | elecuter

We have streamlined the Design Studio's installer to make installation as simple as possible. As of the 0.00.0156, the installer is complete, so you don't need anything else to run it. We have tested it on Windows® versions 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and 2008.

Simply visit the Home Page to get the latest version of the Design Studio. When you're given the choice, we recommend you save the file (something like ds165.exe) onto your Desktop, so you can easily find it.

Simply double-click the program file to start the installation process. Should you receive a warning that the software is Unsigned, please click "Install" to continue. Unfortunately as a small concern, we have yet to invest in a security certificate with which to sign software.

Once you've finished the installation, you should find an icon in your "Start Menu" under "Programs" then "Elecuter" to the "Design Studio". Clicking this should launch the Studio.

Common problems

Please firstly try re-installing the Design Studio, and/or check for updates (Home Page) if you encounter any of these common problems. Failing that, please use the Feedback Form to contact us:

"Error initializing DLL" or "Unable to locate a DLL required for this program to run" - any library or combination of libraries is not correctly installed.
"Error starting program - MSVBVM50.DLL could not be found" - the library MSVBSM50.DLL is essential for the program to run.
Clicking the Rich Text Editor icon, selecting it via menu etc. does nothing implies that the library RICHTX32.OCX is not installed, or has not been correctly registered.
"Run-time error 50003" is usually generated because the COMDLG32.OCX library is outdated. This may arise if you have conflicting software installed on your computer.
